Kaal movie available to watch on Netflix India: Get the feel of the film before you watch
Just watched the movie ‘Kaal’ again after a long time. This is one of the best movies ever made. It was made at the time when Bollywood did not make movies like this and thinking of creating such a film in itself is an achievement for Indian film industry but that too was well made.
The feel of the film (no spoilers)
The fear of the jungles in India can be lived in this film, the wild animals, the chaos in the quiet of the jungle can be felt while watching the characters in the film trying to cross the jungle. If you have ever gone out for an adventure in a forest, you will live it again and with better experience of incredible cinematography.
The film moves fast without boring the viewers and the actors have justified the roles perfectly. This would have been easily slipped through poor graphics, boring dialogues and missing the flow for trying to be like Hollywood that has already made successful films in forest environment. The creator made sure of sticking to Indian environment, human behaviour and some real fear experiences that Indian viewers can relate to. This similar mentality was kept in ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ that was an alien film but was Indian in every way.
If you are scrolling through OTTs and can’t decide what to watch on a Sunday afternoon, then pick this from the list. You will enjoy it if you love jungle adventure and want to feel the fear of the wild animals in the jungle which we feel even though we don’t see those animals there.
The tigers in the film are trained but we still fear them for their charisma of being tigers.
Lesson we learn
Follow the rules of the jungle once you’re in it.
Spoilers
If you have not seen this film yet, you can stop reading. The real killer in the film is a Ghost but I’d say that does not justify the killings in these jungles. Maneater tigers are out there and they are hunting tourists as we read the news in papers and there is no ghost behind those killings. The real culprit are the tourists because Tigers did not invite them but the world belongs to all beings and things like that happen when predator meets the prey. There are many leopards wandering in the city area of Gujarat and things have happened. The people disappear because these animals are good at not leaving a trace. We should keep doors locked at night and not to be overconfident about what can or cannot happen because when things happen, people like ‘Kaali’ in this film say, “I told you so.” And that does not help once a person is dead.
